Job description

DABS Inc works to support developmentally disabled adults who are facing placement challenges through Regional Center Social Services. We develop placement opportunities and help clients achieve a dignified experience of living and thriving within a network of community support and outreach.

We accomplish this through teaching life skills that enable our clients to reach their goals, create lasting and meaningful relationships, and to have access to equal opportunities for learning and community outreach. We also provide guidance and instruction to our clients so that they can make their own informed decisions based on their own needs and wishes without threatening nor restricting independence. As a RBT you will have a general understanding of applied behavior analysis, and experience managing behavior escalation in a Group Home setting, the community, and can implement a positive behavior support plan, overseen with support by a BCBA.

What You Will Do

  • Under the supervision of a behavior analyst and our clinical team, you will effectively implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and will collect and record data to monitor progress.
  • You will aid clients with everyday activities that are mostly at a Group Home setting or community based, such as taking classes, joining a gym, applying for jobs, learning pre-vocational skills, enjoying a hobby, travel training, and more.
  • You will actively seek clinical direction from your supervisor in a timely manner and collaborate with conservations/Direct Support Professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency and continuity of care during and outside of sessions
  • You will adhere to ethical guidelines regarding professional conduct and scope of practice

What We Need from You

  • An active RBT or equivalent certification and/or have extensive experience with behavior management and willing to become certified.
  • Experience working with mild to severe challenging behaviors.
  • Experience working with adults with a diagnosis in Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • For roles that require driving, you will need to have a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
  • Current CPR certification - we can provide you with resources to complete this.
  • Recent TB Test - we can provide you with resources to complete this.
  • Undergo federal and state fingerprint background check
