Michael Chapman's work experience begins in 2011 as the Lead Strategist for Michael Chapman Communications, a research and communications planning firm. In this role, they assist both public and private sector organizations with campaign strategy, legislative research, public outreach, and client business development.

In 2013, Chapman becomes an Assistant Project Manager at Henegan Construction Co., where they manage MEP infrastructure and critical systems in commercial interiors projects. Michael is responsible for budgeting, estimating, subcontractor coordination, and project closeout.

From 2015 to 2017, Chapman works as an Assistant Project Manager at Tishman Construction, an AECOM Company. Michael handles change orders, delay analysis, and financial log maintenance for the Hurricane Sandy Build it Back program. Michael also authors a white paper on implementing modular construction.

In 2017, Chapman joins The LiRo Group as an Assistant Project Manager, providing construction management services for the New York City Department of Sanitation. Michael'sduties include design review, cost control, scheduling, and subcontractor prequalification.

From 2018 to 2021, Chapman serves as an Assistant Project Manager at AECOM Tishman, working on the JFK New Terminal One project. Michael develops scopes for architectural trades and contributes to the development of a state-of-the-art terminal.

In 2021, Chapman takes on the role of Superintendent at Non-Stop Safety/CMR Partners, overseeing the renovation of a 240,000 sq. ft. warehouse. Michael then becomes the President of Heron Hill Property & Project Management, a position they hold until 2022.

Chapman's most recent position is Senior Project Manager at Lane Valente Industries, where they manage a national account for Carvana. Michael supervises a team of project managers and a coordinator, ensuring the successful completion of multiple construction projects.

In 2022, Chapman joins DACK Consulting Solutions, Inc. as a Project Manager for the JFK New Terminal One project, specifically overseeing low voltage security/telecom and MSI systems.

Michael Chapman, MPP, CMIT has a diverse education history that spans various fields of study. In 2000, they obtained a Certificate in Computer Graphics from the Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES/Communications Academy. Following this, from 2002 to 2005, they pursued an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies at Suffolk County Community College. Michael then continued their education at St. John's University, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Government & Politics in 2006.

In 2007, Michael earned a Construction Project Management Certificate from Pace University, highlighting their interest in the construction industry. Later, they attended The Leadership Institute in 2011, where they gained insights into grassroots campaign strategies.

Moving forward, Michael pursued their passion for public policy by enrolling in Stony Brook University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Public Policy from 2010 to 2012. This advanced degree further enhanced their understanding of policy issues.

To expand their knowledge and skills in the legal field, they obtained a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Boston University in 2021. Furthermore, in 2022 and 2023, Michael is currently pursuing studies in Corporate Compliance and Ethics at Fordham University School of Law.

In addition to formal education, Michael has also obtained several certifications. Notably, they became a Certified Construction Manager In Training (CMIT) through the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) in September 2018. Furthermore, they received various Procore certifications in Project Management, including Core Tools, Project Management, and Quality & Safety, all conferred by Procore Technologies in February 2019. Michael also completed the Construction Project Management certificate program at Pace University in 2007.
