Laurel Schut

Laurel Schut is an experienced educator and coordinator at Dalhousie University, currently serving as the Coordinator for the Certificate in Food, Agriculture, and Sustainability and a Faculty Associate at the Centre for Learning and Teaching. In addition to instructing at the College of Sustainability, Laurel has held the position of Acting Associate Director within the same college. Laurel co-directs FOUND Forgotten Food and has extensive experience in curriculum development and teaching across various educational institutions, including Mount Saint Vincent University and Acadia University. Laurel has served as a Board Member for Divert NS, contributing to recycling initiatives in Nova Scotia. Ongoing professional development includes participation in the Educators' Neighborhood 2024/25 Cohort with the Fred Rogers Institute. Laurel holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Environmental Studies from Dalhousie University and a Certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation from the University of Waterloo.
