Mark Brown

Chief Operating Officer at Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity

Mark Brown has extensive work experience in the homebuilding industry. Mark began their career in 1995 as an Area Manager at K. Hovnanian Homes and later became the Area President, a position they held until May 2019. During their time at K. Hovnanian Homes, they were responsible for overseeing operations and managing the development and construction of homes.

In 2019, Mark joined Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity as the Chief Operating Officer. In this role, they were in charge of all homebuilding operations, including lot procurement, land development, product design, purchasing, and production. Mark successfully implemented various strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs, such as developing a Land / Lot Strategy for future growth and negotiating cost savings with vendors. Mark also implemented build schedule timelines, significantly reducing cycle time, and created a Quality Standard Program for all homes.

Mark Brown attended Baylor University - Hankamer School of Business from 1983 to 1987. Mark obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree with a focus on Accounting and Finance.
