Shannan Lum currently serves as a Quality Control Coach and Special Assistant to the Head Coach for the Dallas Mavericks since September 2021. Prior to this position, Shannan worked as the Men's Basketball Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from May 2021 to September 2021. Shannan's experience also includes serving as the Women’s Basketball Director of Video at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2019 to May 2021, and as a Women's Basketball Coaching/Video Intern at Stanford University from June 2018 to August 2019. Earlier in the career, Shannan held roles at St. John's University from October 2014 to June 2018, including Men's Basketball Senior Manager/Operations & Management Analyst Assistant and Women's Basketball Student-Manager. Shannan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management with a concentration in Coaching from St. John's University, achieved in 2018.

The Dallas Mavericks are an American professional basketball team based in Dallas. The Mavs compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Western Conference and play at American Airlines Center under the direction of Coach Rick Carlisle, General Manager Donnie Nelson, CEO Cynt Marshall and Owner Mark Cuban. Since the inaugural season in 1980-81, the Mavs have won three division titles, two conference championships and one NBA championship in 2011. In addition to on-court success, the Mavs are committed to making a difference in North Texas through community programs and the Mavs Foundation.
