Mason Kleist

Mason Kleist is a seasoned animal care professional with extensive experience in zoology and wildlife management. Currently serving as a Senior Mammal/Bird Zookeeper at The Dallas World Aquarium since November 2022, Mason previously worked as a Zookeeper at El Paso Zoo and as a Zoological Intern at Caldwell Zoo. A background in logistics was gained through a role at Helping Hand Movers, while prior research experience includes studying biodiversity in the Mayan Mountain Rainforest in Belize as a Student Biological Researcher with BFREE. Additional experience includes serving as First Mate at Everglades National Park Boat, where Mason honed communication and risk management skills, and working as an Animal Care Associate at Amazing Pets LLC, focusing on the care and breeding of various exotic animals. Mason Kleist holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of the Cumberlands, alongside previous studies at Central Alabama Community College and Broward College.
