Interim General Counsel at Dama Financial

Jeffrey Newman has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Jeffrey currently serves as the Interim General Counsel at Dama Financial, a leading provider of financial services to the cannabis industry. Prior to this, they were elected as an Independent Director to the Board of Paysign, Inc., a NASDAQ listed payments company.

Jeffrey gained extensive legal expertise during their tenure at Euronet Worldwide, where they held the position of Executive Vice President & General Counsel. Jeffrey played a crucial role in overseeing all legal affairs for the company as it grew from its initial formation to becoming a NASDAQ listed company with a market capitalization of $8 billion. This involved implementing corporate governance policies, navigating legal and regulatory frameworks, managing acquisitions and financings, directing litigation and response to regulatory investigations, and negotiating major commercial agreements.

Before joining Euronet Worldwide, Jeffrey worked at Arent Fox, initially as an Associate, and later as a Partner. Jeffrey established and grew the Budapest office, represented U.S. clients doing business in Eastern Europe, and played an instrumental role in the representation of Hungary in various legal matters.

Throughout their career, Jeffrey has demonstrated strong leadership in managing legal departments, working with international teams, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Jeffrey Newman attended Telopea Park High School from 1968 to 1971, where they obtained their Higher School Certificate. Following this, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government at Ohio University from 1972 to 1976. Jeffrey then pursued a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law from 1976 to 1979. Additionally, in 1979-1980, Jeffrey furthered their education at the University of Paris II, completing a Diplôme Supérieure de l’Université in French Law.
