Gerrit Thiart

Gerrit Thiart has a diverse work experience in supply chain and logistics management. Gerrit started their career at SAB as a Research Assistant, where they focused on Capital Project Portfolio structuring and scenario analysis. Then, they joined South African Breweries as a Management Trainee, where they built analysis tools and managed improvement projects. Later, they moved to ABI as an Operations Improvement Specialist and Manufacturing Development Specialist, implementing World Class Manufacturing strategies. After that, they worked at Danone as a Project/Performance Manager, ensuring productivity and leading the implementation of a national supply network. Gerrit then took on roles at Danone as a National Logistics Manager and Head of Planning and Logistics, responsible for demand forecasting, supply planning, and logistics coordination for the company's Southern Africa division. Currently, Gerrit is the Head of Logistics at Danone Southern Africa, leading the logistics function and overseeing a Route to Market overhaul to improve customer fill rate and reduce costs.

Gerrit Thiart completed their Matric degree at Calvinia High School in the period from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a BEng Industrial degree at Stellenbosch University from 2004 to 2007.
