Ibrahim Elshahat

Head of Preachers Division - IIC at Dar Alber society

Ibrahim Elshahat has a diverse work experience background. Ibrahim started their career as a Researcher and Proofreader at Fihr Research Center in February 2012. Ibrahim then moved on to work as a Senior Researcher and Proofreader at Al Ajhory Juristic Research from February 2013 to February 2014. Following this, Ibrahim worked as a Translator at Arabic Lingo from November 2013 to April 2014. Ibrahim then joined Sphinx Legal Translation as a Translator and Proofreader from May 2014 to October 2015. Ibrahim also worked as a Freelance Translator at TransPerfect from September 2015 onwards. In addition to their translation work, they served as the Head of Preachers Division - IIC at Dar Alber society starting from October 2015. Most recently, Ibrahim has been self-employed since December 2018.

Ibrahim Elshahat obtained a Bachelor's degree in Simultaneous Interpretation - English from Al-Azhar University, which they attended from 2008 to 2013. In 2011 to 2012, they pursued a Diploma in Translation at The American University in Cairo. Ibrahim also completed a Diploma in Islamic Studies - in English Language - at the Islamic Online University in 2012.

Furthering their education, Ibrahim earned a Master's degree in Islamic Studies from the Islamic Online University in 2016 to 2017. Ibrahim later obtained another Master's degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Malaya, attending from 2018 to 2020. Ibrahim also completed additional certifications, including Written Translation from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in December 2012 and a TOT (Training of Trainers) Certificate from Dar Alber.

Currently, Ibrahim is pursuing a Ph.D. in Arabic Language Studies with a focus on Arabic Language and Literature at the Islamic University of Minnesota. Ibrahim is expected to complete this program, as well as their second Ph.D. in Islamic Studies, at the University of Malaya from 2021 to 2023.
