Matthias Saffrich, CIIA, CEFA has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities in the insurance and financial industry. Matthias began their career at HDI Versicherungen with an apprenticeship in insurance business from 2001 to 2004. Matthias then joined HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG and worked as an underwriter for commercial motor insurance from 2004 to 2007. Matthias later took on the role of operations manager, focusing on project management for industrial motor insurance from 2007 to 2011.

In 2011, Saffrich joined Talanx AG as a manager in strategy and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the group corporate development department, where they stayed until 2016. Matthias then joined DARAG Deutsche Versicherungs- und Rückversicherungs-AG, focusing on transaction and portfolio management as a senior manager in M&A from 2016 to 2017.

Saffrich then moved to VHV Holding AG in 2017, serving as the head of business architecture until 2018. Matthias also worked at 67rockwell Consulting GmbH as a manager from 2018 to 2019.

In 2019, Saffrich returned to the DARAG Group, holding the position of head of corporate development until 2021. During this time, they also took on the role of head of operations for Europe. Additionally, they became a member of the board of directors at ARISA Assurances S.A., a subsidiary of the DARAG Group, in 2020.
