Joshua Baron

Program Manager, Information Innovation Office (I2O) at DARPA

Joshua Baron is the current Program Manager for the Information Innovation Office (I2O) at DARPA. Joshua was previously employed as an Information Scientist at the RAND Corporation where they created enhanced decision-making capabilities for cybersecurity and cyberspace operations. Joshua also examined the national security implications of virtual currencies and was a professor at Pardee RAND Graduate School in cybersecurity. Baron has also been a Research Staff Member at HRL Laboratories, LLC where they researched security-related problems for corporations and for government. In particular, they studied how to fit theoretical security definitions with real-world scenarios to navigate hard problems. Baron's experience and expertise make him well-suited for their current position at DARPA.

Joshua Baron's educational career began with him obtaining their B.A. in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. Joshua then went on to obtain their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Finally, they obtained their PhD in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

They are on a team with Kerri Dugan - Acting Office Director, Biological Technologies Office, Timothy Grayson - Office Director, Strategic Technology Office, and David K. Abe - Program Manager, Microsystems Technology Office. Their manager is Victoria Coleman, Director, Defense Advanced Research Projects.
