Rob McHenry

Rob McHenry is an accomplished leader in technology and defense, currently serving as Acting Director at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where efforts focus on maximizing risk-taking and ensuring rapid technological advancement across diverse programs. Previously, McHenry held the position of CEO at Bright Silicon Technologies, leading the commercialization of advanced optical beam-control technology, and has a strong background in management roles at DARPA, PARC, and the US Navy. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
