Michael Ryan

Michael Ryan has a diverse work experience in internal audit and risk management. Michael started their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Manager in Internal Audit Services, where they managed client relationships and executed audit projects for various industries. Michael then joined United Airlines as the Manager of Internal Audit, overseeing audits related to expenses, liabilities, and operations. After that, they worked at Career Education Corporation as an Internal Audit Manager, where they established process controls and standardized controls across multiple campuses. Ryan later served as a Board Member at the Institute of Internal Auditors. Currently, they are the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit at Dart Container, where they are responsible for overseeing risk management processes and managing the Risk Management and Internal Audit departments. Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated their ability to build and mature internal audit departments and contribute strategically to organizations.

Michael Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting from DePaul University, where they studied from 1989 to 1993. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 1998 and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from The Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) in 1993. In 2020, they acquired certifications in Strategic Agility and Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn.
