Brendan Chwyl started their career in 2010 as a Co-op Student at Baytex Energy Corp. Brendan worked in both the Conventional Oil and Heavy Oil departments. In 2011, they interned at Automation Engineering Ltd. as a Co-op Student, focusing on System Design. Brendan then joined Phoenix Interactive Design Inc. as a Co-op Student in 2012, working on Terminal Platform Software Development. Later that year, they interned at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada in the Stamping Department. In 2013, they returned to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada for another Co-op position in the same department. Brendan pursued higher education at the University of Waterloo, where they joined the Vision and Image Processing Research Group as an MASc Candidate from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo. In 2017, Brendan co-founded DarwinAI and served as a Senior Research Developer until October 2020. Brendan then transitioned into the role of Director of Engineering at DarwinAI.

Brendan Chwyl completed their education history with a Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the same university between 2009 and 2014. In 2013, Brendan had a brief educational experience at the National University of Singapore, details of which are not provided.
