Pete Hegedus

Pete Hegedus is the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis at DSA. Pete brings over 30 years of experience to DSA, where he is responsible for financial reporting, analysis, and program finances.

Pete has held senior financial positions throughout his career with a proven track record as a team leader and motivator who has built high performing accounting and business management teams. He is a process improvement and integration specialist who has successfully participated in and led system integration efforts of major ERP systems.

Pete has a passion for working closely with the operations side of the business and ensuring the project teams and the PMs are well informed and have all the information they require to manage their program throughout the entire project life cycle. He believes that by having the finance team and operational lines of business working closely together they can improve communications, budgeting, forecasting, overall project and operational group performance.

He began his career as a CPA and auditor with the former Peat Marwick & Mitchell (KPMG) in Raleigh, NC. After relocating to Virginia, he began working in government contracting for an 8(a) professional services firm, and then with Software AG, where he went to stand up their government services unit. He also worked for a division of BAE Systems before moving to Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC), which was acquired by Engility Corporation in 2014.

Pete is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Business and major in Accounting.
