Steve Weis

Steve Weis has a wealth of experience in the field of security and privacy, with roles at top tech companies such as Databricks, Facebook, and Google. As a Principal Software Engineer at Databricks, they focus on security architecture and data protection. Prior to this, they worked as a Security and Privacy Consultant and held roles at Facebook working on data privacy, and as the Co-Founder and CTO of PrivateCore, which was acquired by Facebook. Steve's career also includes positions at AppDirect, Google, RSA Security, and Sun Microsystems, where they gained expertise in security tools, cryptography, and authentication systems.

Steve Weis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics. Steve later pursued a Master of Science in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2003, followed by a PhD in Computer Science from MIT from 2003 to 2006.
