Julien le Dem

Julien Le Dem is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in data engineering and software architecture. As a Principal Engineer at Datadog since May 2024 and the OpenLineage project lead since September 2020, Julien has driven significant advancements in data management and operational solutions. With a longstanding affiliation with The Apache Software Foundation starting in December 2010, Julien has made notable contributions to the Apache Arrow project and holds leadership roles in several PMCs, including chair positions for Apache Parquet and Pig. Previously, Julien served as Chief Architect at Astronomer and held key roles at Datakin, WeWork, Dremio, Twitter, and Yahoo!, focusing on scalable content platforms and data processing tools. Julien holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Institut Supérieur d'Informatique Modélisation et leurs Applications.
