Pete Hazell

Principal Product Designer at Dataminr

Pete Hazell has extensive experience in the field of design, with their most recent position being Principal Product Designer at Dataminr since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Lead Designer at WatchKeeper from January 2020 to June 2022. In this role, they collaborated with product managers and engineers to gather and evaluate user requirements, conducted user testing, and utilized both qualitative and quantitative data to improve design features.

Before joining WatchKeeper, Pete worked as a Creative at CoStartup & Go Ltd from January 2020 to November 2020, where they provided support to startups and maintained partnerships with coworking spaces and innovative collaborations.

Pete also served as a Creative Director at Wobblegate Ltd from December 2016 to December 2019, where they oversaw creative projects and initiatives. Prior to that, they worked as a Designer at Vidados in 2016 and as a Creative Director at EarlyBird from September 2014 to June 2016.

Pete started their career as a self-employed Designer from August 2012 to September 2014, working on various design projects. Pete then joined SCS Marketing as a Designer from April 2010 to April 2012 and Bunzl as a Designer from March 2007 to April 2010.

Additionally, Pete had experience with Regency Design & Print from March 2006 to April 2007.

Overall, Pete Hazell has a diverse background in design, including extensive experience in leadership roles, user requirements evaluation, user testing, and a strong focus on improving design features.

Pete Hazell attended Hurstpierpoint College from 1996 to 2002, where they completed their A-levels and GCSEs in Physical Education, Biology, and Computing. Pete then pursued higher education at UWE from 2003 to 2004, obtaining an HNC in Physiotherapy. Following this, Pete enrolled at the University of Brighton from 2006 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Design and Visual Communications, with a focus on General Design and Visual Communications.
