Shimon Modi

Shimon Modi has a range of experience in product management, cybersecurity, and academia. Shimon currently serves as the Vice President of Product Management at Dataminr, where they led the development and launch of a new product called Dataminr Pulse for Cyber Risk. Shimon is responsible for product strategy, execution, and partnerships.

Prior to their current role, Shimon worked at Elastic as the Director of Product, Elastic Security. Shimon brought Cyber Threat Intelligence capabilities to the market and launched a Security Integrations Partnerships Program. Shimon also led a team focused on XDR capabilities.

Before Elastic, Shimon worked at TruSTAR, where they served as an Advisor and later as the VP of Product & Engineering. Shimon led product management, data science, and engineering efforts to develop and deliver a cloud-native enterprise cybersecurity platform.

Shimon also has experience at Accenture Technology Labs, where they held roles as Manager and Associate Manager in cybersecurity product innovation. Shimon played a key role in developing technology and marketing enablers for Accenture's security practice.

Additionally, Shimon has served as an InfoSec Adjunct Faculty at George Mason University and worked as an IdM Consultant at Freddie Mac. Shimon also has experience in biometric security, conducting research at BSPA Labs and working as a Biometrics Researcher at US Biometrics.

Shimon Modi received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Purdue University in the years 1999 to 2003. Shimon then pursued a Master's degree in Biometrics/Information Security from the same university, which they completed in 2005. Subsequently, Shimon engaged in further studies at Purdue University, earning a Ph.D. in Biometrics / Information Security and Assurance from 2005 to 2008. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in July 2011.
