Alexandru Popescu

Alexandru Popescu has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Alexandru began their career as a Technical Leader at EZLegacy from October 2003 to August 2005. Alexandru then worked as a Developer for WebWork/XWork from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, they became a Groovy committer, contributing to the development of the programming language. From 2005 to 2009, they worked at Apache Jackrabbit/JCR as a Software Engineer, Speaker, and Evangelist, where they used and promoted JCR and Apache Jackrabbit.

In 2009, Alexandru established their own company, myNoSQL, where they served as the Creator, Founder, and Writer. Alexandru then served as the Co-founder, CTO, and Product Manager of InfoQ.com from August 2005 to December 2011, making strategic business decisions and overseeing product development.

In 2012, they joined RethinkDB as a Product Manager, working closely with the CEO and the team to prioritize features and shape the product API based on user feedback and market trends. From 2013 onwards, they started their journey at DataStax as a Senior Product Manager and then became the Director of Product Management.

Finally, Alexandru is currently employed at Oracle as the Senior Director of Product Development for OCI, a role they have held since July 2017.

Alexandru Popescu attended the Academia de Studii Economice din București from 1994 to 1999, where they studied Advanced Economical Mathematics. Following this, from 1999 to 2002, they attended the University of Bucharest, specializing in Mathematics and Computer Science. No specific degree was mentioned for either institution.
