Product Manager, Cloud Native at DataStax

Christopher Bradford has extensive work experience in various positions and industries. Christopher began their career in 2005 as a Web Applications Specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they performed system administration tasks and optimized Apache servers. In 2010, they worked as a Developer and Systems Administrator at INM United, developing large-scale web applications and managing various deployment stacks.

From 2010 to 2011, Christopher served as a Project Consultant and Systems Administrator at Colab Multimedia, where they trained teams on distributed version control and advised project directions based on scale and platform requirements. Christopher also migrated to a Puppet-backed configuration system and developed scripts for common system administration tasks.

In 2011, they worked as a Mobile Application Developer at Useful Development, LLC, developing iPhone and Android applications for clients. Later that year, they joined OnLive as a Service Reliability Engineer, ensuring the smooth operation of their services.

From 2012 to 2014, Christopher served as the Director of Engineering at YouEye, leading engineering efforts. Christopher then worked as a Development Lead at Groupiter for a short period before joining OpenSource Connections in 2014 as a Search & Big Data Architect. In this role, they led the Technical Architecture team and developed various tools and analytics engines involving Apache Solr and DataStax Enterprise.

Since 2016, Christopher has been working at DataStax as a Product Manager, Cloud Native, where they are responsible for managing cloud-native products.

In 2019, they briefly served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Richmond.

Christopher Bradford's education history starts with their time at Landstown High School and Technology Academy, where they obtained an Advanced Diploma in Engineering from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they attended the Virginia Beach Advanced Technology Center from 2004 to 2005, studying High Performance Manufacturing and Engineering. Christopher then pursued further education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they studied Computer Science at the School of Engineering from 2005 to 2007. Christopher later shifted their focus to Information Systems, studying at the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2007 to 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Christopher has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they became an AWS Certified Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Level through Amazon Web Services. In 2015, Christopher obtained a DataStax Certified Cassandra Architect certification from DataStax. Lastly, in 2016, they earned a certificate in Functional Programming Principles in Scala from the Coursera Course Certificates.
