João Reis

João Reis has a diverse work experience. João started their career at the Tutoring Center as a Tutor in November 2013 and worked until January 2014. João then worked at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto as a Student Researcher and Class Assistant from March 2014 to June 2014. In 2015, João Reis joined Toptal as a Software Engineer, where they worked until August 2016. João was responsible for Full Stack development, using HTML, Javascript, CSS for the frontend and ASP.NET for the backend. After that, they joined Farfetch as a Software Engineer in September 2016. Their main responsibilities included the development of frameworks used by other engineering teams, researching new technologies, and developing highly available and scalable services. João also kick-started technical projects and kept up to date with software architecture principles and design patterns. In August 2018, João Reis joined DataStax as a Senior Software Engineer, where they continue to work.

João Reis pursued their education in the field of Informatics and Computer Engineering, earning a Master's Degree from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto from 2010 to 2015. During their studies, João had the opportunity to engage in an international exchange program, spending a year at Aalto University in 2014. This program, called Erasmus+, allowed João to delve deeper into the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
