Mica Block

Mica Block has extensive work experience in various roles within the technology industry. They started their career at Information Builders in 1990 as a Senior Consultant, where they trained and supervised junior consultants and developed applications for high-level clients. They were later promoted to the role of Product Manager, responsible for product design, packaging, and sales support. In 1994, Mica joined Powersoft Corporation as a Technical Advisor, managing pre- and post-sales support for clients in the New York area. They achieved Quota Club recognition during their time there. In 1996, Mica moved to Actuate Corporation as a Senior Sales Engineer, helping build sales in the financial services sector and eventually becoming Director of Actuate Corporate Engineers, where they led a global team providing technical support to the sales force. They also oversaw the full product lifecycle and evangelized the BIRT iHub F-Type product line. In 2017, Mica joined OpenText as a Principal Analytics Architect, where they directed a team supporting global sales organizations on the AI platform product, Magellan. They completed over 30 proofs of concept and provided technical support and sales expertise to customers and partners. Most recently, in 2020, Mica joined DataStax as a Senior Sales Engineer.

Mica Block obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 1984 to 1988. They also earned a BA in Computer Science from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, although the specific start and end years for this degree are unknown. In addition to their formal education, Mica Block has obtained several certifications including an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in February 2023 and an Apache Cassandra 3 Developer Certification from DataStax in November 2022.
