Phil Kim

Phil Kim has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Phil is currently working at DataStax as the VP of Business Development, Growth Strategy, and Product Integrations, where they are responsible for leading company-wide strategy and execution of partnerships, developing growth strategies, and operationalizing go-to-market activities. Prior to that, they served as the VP of Partnerships at DataStax.

Before joining DataStax, Phil held positions at Microsoft starting in 2017. Phil was the Director of Corporate Business Development and Strategy, leading the strategy and business development team for Developer/Cloud Products. Their responsibilities included creating new business/pricing models, GTM terms, and product scenarios to build strategic partnerships with key players in the ecosystem. Phil successfully closed multi-million dollar strategic partnership deals. Phil also held the role of Senior Manager in Corporate Business Development and Strategy, focusing on Cloud, Developer tooling, and Gaming.

Phil's work experience also includes a stint at Grainger in Corporate Strategy and roles at Bain & Company as a Case Team Leader and Consultant. Additionally, they worked as an MBA Intern at Cypress Envirosystems.

Earlier in their career, Phil served as a Project Manager/Senior Engineer at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. and as an Engineer at JRS Engineering.

Phil Kim completed their education with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where they attended from 2002 to 2007. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, from 2011 to 2013.
