Rick DeVera, MBA, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and sectors. Rick'smost recent position was as Deputy Program Manager and Cyberspace Operations Engineer at Legion Consulting Solutions. In this role, they were responsible for managing programs and executing cyberspace operations.

Prior to that, DeVera worked as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Davis Defense Group, Inc., where they taught a 15-week primary military education course to prepare Marines for higher ranks. Rick utilized the Socratic method of instruction and covered leadership, writing, critical thinking, operational planning, and policy analysis.

DeVera also gained experience at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an Engagement Manager and Fellow. Rick participated in the Hiring Our Heroes Fellowship and demonstrated expertise in cloud computing and AWS services. Rick engaged with customers, prioritized and optimized their workloads, managed cloud-native and cloud-adoption projects, and drove their business outcomes.

Before their transition to the private sector, DeVera served in the United States Marine Corps for over 15 years. Rick held various positions, including Operations Manager at Joint Force Headquarters - Cyber (Marines) and Customer Onboarding and Integration Liaison at DoD Platform One. In these roles, they shaped modernization efforts, streamlined operational processes, and provided leadership and oversight.

DeVera also gained expertise in cyberspace operations through their roles as a Cyberspace Effects Operator/Analyst Student at Marine Corps Cyberspace Warfare Group and as a Cyberspace Operations & Intelligence Communications Consultant at U.S. Marine Corps Forces - Pacific.

In addition, they served as the Joint Enterprise Data Integrator's Course Director at Marine Corps Detachment Goodfellow AFB, TX, where they defined intelligence requirements and approved course curriculum. Rick also served as an Intelligence Systems Manager and Information Systems Security Manager at II Marine Expeditionary Force, overseeing network infrastructure expansions, system migrations, and training initiatives.

Earlier in their career, DeVera held positions such as a Digital Network Exploitation Analyst at 2d Radio Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, an Operations Watch Lead (Communications Center) at Company I, Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion, and an ISR Systems Engineer at 3d Radio Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force.

Rick DeVera, MBA has a diverse education history. Rick obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Angelo State University from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2012 to 2014, where they studied Computer Networks and Security with a minor in Cybersecurity. In 2005 to 2008, they attended Chaminade University of Honolulu and received an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice.

In addition to their formal education, Rick DeVera holds several certifications. Rick is a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) obtained from Scrum Alliance in November 2022. Rick also received the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2022. Other certifications include C|EH from EC-Council in March 2015, CCNA - Routing and Switching from Cisco in September 2014, CCENT from Cisco in May 2014, CISSP from (ISC)2 in June 2013, Network+ from CompTIA in March 2012, and Security+ from CompTIA in March 2012.
