Mark Dalton

Director of Engineering at Day Zero Diagnostics

Mark Dalton has held a variety of positions in the engineering field since 2006. Mark'sfirst job was as a Student Engineer at Stokes Bio Ltd in 2006. From 2008 to 2010, they worked at the University of Limerick as a Postgraduate Researcher and Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where they invented and developed novel thermal cycling instrumentation. In 2010, they became a Research and Development Engineer at Life Technologies. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at BD as a Technical Lead, where they led the successful development and delivery of a number of novel CLC based genotyping platforms for a multinational AgBio client, and also led the development of BD GenCells microfluidic nucleic acid purification system. In 2021, they became a Senior Director, Product Development at Proof Diagnostics, Inc. and in 2022 they became the Director of Engineering at Day Zero Diagnostics, Inc.

Mark Dalton completed a PhD in Continuous Flow Digital PCR from the University of Limerick in 2011, following their B.Eng in Biomedical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 2008.
