Joel Steinhaus has a long and varied work history. Joel began their career in 2002 as a Managing Editor, Editor, and Researcher-Writer for Let's Go Publications. In 2006, they became an Associate at Kekst CNC. In 2010, they were a Senior Producer for NBC News Education Nation at Civic Entertainment Group, LLC. From 2011 to 2016, they worked at Citi in various roles, including Managing Director and Chief of Staff, Office of the Chairman, and Senior Vice President, Global Public Affairs. From 2016 to 2019, they were the Global Head of Financial Services Practice, Head of Strategic Initiatives, and Chief Of Staff, Office of the CEO at WeWork. Most recently, they have been an Advisory Board Member at Heard Capital LLC since 2019 and Co-Founder and CEO at DAYBASE since 2020.

Joel Steinhaus graduated from Harvard University in 2004 with an AB in Joel'story and International Relations. Joel then went on to obtain an MBA from Yale School of Management between 2008 and 2010.
