Rachel Gut

Deputy Executive Director at Dayton Metro Library

Rachel Gut has worked at the Dayton Metro Library since 2001, holding the positions of Branch Manager, Outreach Services Manager, and currently serving as Deputy Director since March, 2015. Her career focus has been Public Services; after graduating from Indiana University with an MLS, she started as a Teen Librarian for the Lane Public Library System and then worked as their Bookmobile Manager. She was Assistant Director of the Mason Public Library before joining the DML team.

As Deputy Director, Rachel is responsible for operations of the Main Library and all Branches, including staffing, collections, technology, programming, volunteer services, facilities, and security. She and her husband, Chet, have three children under 18. She volunteers with Catholic Social Services Refugee Resettlement program, various programs through Concordia Lutheran Church, and with her children’s activities.
