James Brafford, II, MBA, CMFC

James Brafford, II, MBA, CMFC has extensive work experience in quality management and operations in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. James currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and Head of Global Quality at DBV Technologies. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President and Head of Device Quality at Emergent BioSolutions from 2018 to 2022.

From 2014 to 2018, James worked at Allergan, holding various executive director roles in global quality management systems, global quality operations, and global strategic quality. Before that, they worked as the Director of Global QRA Operations at CareFusion in 2014.

James spent a significant portion of their career at GE Healthcare, where they held roles such as Director of Global QRA Operations and Director of Global QA Distribution. James also served as the Manager of Americas QA, leading a regional team and serving as a corporate site QA lead and USP liaison.

Prior to their time at GE Healthcare, James worked at ABBOTT LABORATORIES as a Quality Assurance/Regulatory Compliance Manager, Quality Engineering Manager, Senior Quality Engineer, and Senior Auditor in corporate QA. James gained experience in manufacturing, laboratory investigations, quality metrics, and quality improvement initiatives.

Earlier in their career, James worked at URL/MUTUAL PHARMACEUTICAL CO., INC. as a Supervisor of Quality Assurance and at TOMPKINS RUBBER CO. as a Quality Control/Regulatory Compliance Manager and Analytical Lab Manager. James also served as a Production Supervisor at BOWMAN APPLE PRODUCTS CO., INC.

James has a strong background in leading teams, conducting investigations, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

James Brafford, II, earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Bridgewater College from 1989 to 1993, with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. James then pursued further education at Drexel University, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from 1996 to 2000. The focus of their MBA studies was on the Management of Production and Operating Systems.

In addition to their degrees, they have also obtained additional certifications. In June 2001, they became a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) through ASQ - World Headquarters. Recently, in August 2022, they obtained the qualification of Master Financial Coach from Ramsey Solutions.
