The Opportunity

Do you have a passion for all things sports? United Fray is offering an internship to college students or young professionals interested in pursuing a career in sports management and/or sports administration. We are looking for interns who can spend a minimum of 20 hours a week working with our sports team during the day and/or in the evenings. If you’re wanting to learn more about league operations/management and customer service; then this internship is for you!

Internship Information

  • Full-time & part-time interns receive a monthly stipend over their time with United Fray/DC Fray, in addition to school credit hours;

  • We also offer additional pay to interns who host, ref, and/or work certain events during their time at United Fray/DC Fray;

  • Interns must work a minimum of 20 hours per week to receive the stipend.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Working with both the Customer Experience Manager and Customer Experience Coordinator with stakeholder communications, league updates, and general league management operations and logistics and more.

  • Providing grade A+ customer service both in person and on our customer communication platforms

  • Working with the other departments of the sports team on daily tasks as assigned such as answering emails/phone calls, confirming permits, organizing equipment for nightly drops, etc.

  • Create training tools that will be used to train new and veteran staff

  • Helping to jump in and staff leagues as a sub when needed

  • Taking on both daily and big picture projects as assigned

Intern Qualifications

  • Interest in a career in Sport Management, Sport Administration, or a related field
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, go getter attitude
  • Willing to work sometimes long/odd hours during the week
  • Experience with adult social sports
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Able to work in our office located in Northeast DC’s Brentwood/Ivy City neighborhood.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing, and inclusive environment

Compensation/Benefits

  • Intern Compensation: Monthly stipend based off working a minimum of 20 hours per week 

    • Additional pay if you host, ref, and/or work certain events during your internship;
  • $18/hr Bar Sports (Cornhole, Bocce, Skeeball) / Kickball, Volleyball, Softball

  • $20/hr Basketball, Football, Soccer, Dodgeball, Hockey
