Melodi Sampson is an experienced education professional with a strong background in school performance and management. Currently serving as Chief School Performance Officer at the DC Public Charter School Board since September 2013, Melodi has held multiple titles, including Interim Chief School Performance Officer and Director of School Quality and Evaluation. Previous experience includes a role as Enrollment Specialist at Imagine Schools where Melodi successfully exceeded enrollment targets and improved registration procedures. Melodi has also worked as a Program Assistant at the University of Missouri, focusing on college preparatory programs for underrepresented youth, and as an intern at Advocates for Youth, conducting research on adolescent health. Melodi's educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University.

DC PCSB is an independent government agency of the District of Columbia, created in 1996, led by a volunteer seven-member board. As the sole public charter school authorizer in our nation’s capital, we provide oversight to 133 public charter schools which are managed by 68 independently run nonprofit organizations called local education agencies.
