Bryan Copland

Bryan Copland is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in news editing and team leadership. Currently serving as the Live News Editor for The Courier/Evening Telegraph at DC Thomson since September 2013, Bryan oversees the production of digital content for live and breaking stories, earning accolades such as the Best Coverage of a Live Event at the 2023 Scottish Press Awards. Prior roles include Head of Radio News at Original 106/Kingdom FM/Pure Radio Scotland & Wave FM, Deputy and Assistant Editor at the Evening Telegraph, and various positions that culminated in leading the newsdesk. Bryan began a journalism career as a News Reporter at Romanes Media Group, eventually becoming Chief Reporter for the East Lothian Courier. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of the West of Scotland.
