Pippa Virdee

Pippa Virdee is a prominent academic in the field of History, currently serving as a Professor and Subject Head at De Montfort University since April 2006, where previous roles included Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer. Pippa was a Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies from October 2021 to June 2022 and held the position of Visiting Research Fellow at ITU - Information Technology University between September 2016 and August 2017. Additionally, a project management role for a year-long oral history project focused on South Asian migration to Coventry preceded Pippa's work at Coventry University, where Pippa lectured from 2003 to 2006. Pippa's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in History and two degrees from Coventry University, one in Third World Studies and the other in International and Political Studies.
