Laurens Verhagen is an experienced journalist with a strong focus on technology and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as Redacteur AI and Redacteur Technologie at de Volkskrant since January 2017, Laurens has covered various aspects of technology, including gadgets, social media, apps, privacy, and AI. Prior to this role, Laurens was Hoofdredacteur Digital News Selective at De Persgroep from February 2012 to January 2017 and held the position of Hoofdredacteur at NU.nl between March 2006 and November 2011. Laurens holds a drs degree in Wijsbegeerte from the University of Amsterdam, where studies were completed from 1989 to 1994, and attended the University of Amsterdam from 1988 to 1990, alongside earlier education at Het Nieuwe Lyceum Hilversum and Bussumse Montessori School.
