Jonathan Karr

Jonathan Karr is currently involved in Scientific Development and Product at Deep Origin, focusing on accelerating research and development to unravel the complexities of life since March 2022. Previously, Karr served as an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from 2014 to March 2022, where the emphasis was on developing computational models related to health and disease. Between 2007 and 2014, Karr worked at Stanford University as a Research Assistant under Prof. Markus Covert, contributing to the development of the first comprehensive "whole-cell" computational model and a novel hybrid mathematical framework. Earlier research experience includes time at MIT, where Karr assisted Prof. Jim DiCarlo in creating surgical technologies for visual system research and worked with Prof. Michale Fee on systems neuroscience tools for songbirds. Academic qualifications include a PhD and MS in Biophysics and Medicine from Stanford University, alongside SB degrees in Physics and Brain & Cognitive Sciences from MIT.
