Andy Mills has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Andy started their career in the US Army as an Infantry Soldier from July 2011 to August 2013. Following that, they worked as a Customer Service Representative at CSC from September 2013 to July 2014.
In 2014, Andy joined TDEC as a Data Entry Specialist, where they worked from July 2014 to February 2016. Andy then transitioned to Toyota North America as a Production Team Member from February 2016 to August 2016.
Andy then worked at Senture, LLC as an IT Help Desk from May 2017 to January 2020, and subsequently as a Supervisor from August 2016 to May 2017. Andy's experience in the IT field continued at Coalfire, where they worked as an Associate Cloud Engineer from July 2021 to February 2022. Andy then transitioned to the role of Consultant Cloud Engineer from February 2022 to May 2023.
Currently, Andy is employed at Defense Unicorns as a Unicorn Engineer, starting from May 2023, where they utilize their engineering skills.
Throughout their career, Andy has gained experience in a wide range of roles, including cyber security instruction, cloud engineering, system administration, and information security analysis.
Andy Mills completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Arkansas Grantham, graduating in 2018. In 2020, they obtained the Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer certification from the Python Institute. Later in the same year, Andy also earned the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council.
Andy pursued further education and enrolled in Western Governors University in 2020, where they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance in 2021. During this time, they also obtained the AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
In 2019, Andy achieved three certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate. In 2021, they received the HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate certification. Their certifications continued in 2022, as they earned the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification in July and the Amazon Web Services DevOps Engineer - Professional certification in April. Lastly, a Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification is listed, but no specific month or year of completion is provided for this certification.
