Matthew Furtado

Matthew Furtado possesses extensive experience in engineering, particularly in plastics manufacturing and design. Currently serving as an NPI Engineer at DEKA Research & Development since August 2020, Matthew previously worked at Critical Process Filtration from April 2017 to August 2020, focusing on product and machine design for plastic parts and custom manufacturing processes. Earlier roles include Automation and Tooling Engineer at F&M Tool and Plastics, Inc., where responsibilities encompassed PLC programming and CAD modeling, and Manufacturing Engineer at Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, where expertise in rubber injection molding was developed. Matthew began professional development with an internship at Freudenberg, which resulted in a full-time position due to contributions in quality and efficiency improvements. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Polymer/Plastics Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
