Emily Mathews

Emily Mathews is an experienced educator and interpreter specializing in natural and cultural heritage, currently serving as a Historical Park Interpreter at the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control since March 2021. In this role, Emily develops and presents interpretive programs for Delaware Seashore, Fenwick Island, and Holts Landing State Parks, with a focus on the Indian River Life-Saving Station. Previously, Emily established and successfully operated Mathews Educational Services, generating profit within two months, and worked as a Lead Server Trainer at SoDel Concepts, where training materials were created to promote professional standards. Emily has also held positions as a substitute teacher in Cape Henlopen School District and as a Social Studies Teacher in Indian River School District, implementing research-based educational practices. Early experience includes historical presentation and reenactment from 2004 to 2006. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in History Education from the University of Delaware, completed in 2010.
