Ananda Burra

Ananda Burra currently serves as Senior Counsel at Democracy Forward, focusing on litigation to support marginalized communities and uphold democratic values. Previously, Ananda had roles as an Adjunct Professor of Law and Associate Professor of International Law at BML Munjal University, where research centered on international law and civil rights. Ananda's experience includes representing clients at Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel LLP, specializing in civil rights litigation, and engaging in international arbitration at JONES DAY®. Notable academic positions include a fellowship at the University of Virginia School of Law and a visiting fellowship at the University of Cambridge's Lauterpacht Centre for International Law. Ananda's educational background includes a PhD in the History of International Law, a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, and a Master of Arts in Global History.
