Beatrix Jackson

Director Of Talent Acquisition at Democracy Prep Public Schools

Beatrix Jackson is the current Assistant Director of Special Education at Democracy Prep Public Schools. Beatrix was previously a Math Teacher & Special Educator at Democracy Prep Public Schools from August 2012 to June 2016. During their time as a teacher, they developed instructional materials aligned to national common core standards, became skilled in various methods of classroom instruction and management, and wrote, implemented, and evaluated special education goals for students with IEPs. Prior to their work at Democracy Prep Public Schools, Beatrix Jackson was a part of Teach For America from June 2008 to June 2010 where they were selected from over 25,000 applicants nationwide to join the Teach for America corps committed to two years of teaching in under-resourced communities.

Beatrix Jackson has earned a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) in Development Economics and International Development from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Individualized Studies: Politics and Race Relations, Honors from New York University.

They are on a team with Dacia Sigler Mayfield - Special Education Manager, Kelsey Amick - Special Education Manager, and Danielle Alicastro - Special Education Manager. Their manager is Ellie Grose, Senior Director of Special Education and English Language Services.
