Alejandra Duflos currently serves as the Spanish Immersion Coordinator at Denver Language School since August 2021, bringing extensive experience from a decade in education within Denver Public Schools as a Bilingual Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher. Duflos has effectively managed bilingual lessons for up to 50 children and collaborated across grade levels to meet educational standards, notably serving young learners. Prior to a career in education, Duflos held positions in accounting at Reilly Pozner LLP and Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman, LLP, where responsibilities included billing, payroll, and financial management. Duflos holds a Master of Arts in Education from The Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver, a Certificate in Accounting Theory and Practice from UCLA Extension, a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from UC San Diego, and a Certificate in French Language and Culture from Université catholique de l'Ouest.

Denver Language School (DLS) is a public charter K-8 language immersion school in Denver Public Schools. Our mission is to to achieve academic excellence and intercultural competence through language immersion education. We off two language programs, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, in which the target language is both the content and the medium of instruction. The DLS culture is based on three guiding principles and five core values: - High Standards - To create an academic culture which expects high achievement and best efforts from all students, while ensuring they have the necessary support to succeed. - Integrated Values and Beliefs - To build a common understanding that each student will embrace a community-based perspective, sharing in its benefits, responsibilities and sacrifices. - Personalized Instruction and Attention - To create a learning community where students are nurtured and supported individually and collectively to achieve their potential. We opened our doors in August of 2010. Today, we are the #1 choice for kindergarten throughout the entire DPS system. We have expanded to offer K-8 education and are housed in two buildings in Denver.
