Nakhia Crossley

Nakhia Crossley, Esq. has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Nakhia is currently serving as the Head of Legislative Affairs - Office of State and Community Energy Programs at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Federal and State Regulatory Affairs at ADT Solar and as the Senior Manager of Public Policy at Sunrun. Nakhia has also held leadership positions, such as the President of the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago, Inc. Furthermore, they have experience in the renewable energy sector, having worked as the Central Region Director & Counsel, State Affairs at the Solar Energy Industries Association. Nakhia began their legal career as a Special Assistant Attorney General at the Illinois Commerce Commission, where they litigated complex regulatory matters. Nakhia also served as the Legal & Policy Advisor to the Chairman and Commissioners of the Illinois Commerce Commission. Additionally, Nakhia has owned their own law firm, specializing in general business and intellectual property law, and worked as an Assistant General Counsel at Schumacher Electric Corporation.
