Mary French has over 27 years of legal experience, primarily with the Department of Justice Canada, where Mary has served in various roles since September 1996, including Senior Counsel in the Indigenous Rights and Relations Section and Acting Senior Counsel in the Aboriginal Law Section. French has a strong background in Aboriginal law, having worked as Legal Counsel in multiple sections focused on Aboriginal affairs from 2000 to 2018. Prior to this, French gained experience as an Articling Student at Chatwin Belzil (now Chatwin LLP) and holds an LL.B in Law and a BA in History/Classics from the University of Alberta.
