Acting Assistant Secretary & Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, EBSA at Department of Labor

Ali Khawar is currently the Acting Assistant Secretary & Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) at the U.S. Department of Labor. Prior to this, they served as the Campus Activity Board Chair at Kingsborough Community College from September 2021 to May 2022, where they developed a campaign strategy against four candidates to reach a student body of 12,000 and allocated a budget of $100,000 towards student development and enrichment programs that led to 12% increase in student engagement on campus and 6% overall student enrollment. Ali has also worked as a cashier at Burger King from June 2017 to August 2018, where they were responsible for managing cash register, conducting maintenance on machinery, and organizing and replenishing shelves. Ali also trained new employees during their time there.

Ali Khawar received an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Kingsborough Community College. Prior to that, they attended New Utrecht High School.
