Brent Parton

Brent Parton is currently the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Employment & Training Administration (ETA) at the U.S. Department of Labor. In this role, they provide policy and programmatic leadership for the Administration's workforce development programs.

Previously, Mr. Parton served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Department of Labor from January 2016 to January 2017. In this role, they worked on a variety of policy issues related to employment and training programs.

Prior to their work at the Department of Labor, Mr. Parton was a Senior Policy Analyst at the National Governors Association, where they focused on workforce and economic development issues from October 2013 to December 2015. Brent also served as an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University from May 2012 to November 2015.

Before their work in academia, Mr. Parton spent several years in the private sector as a consultant. Brent worked for The World Bank as a Consultant in the Education Sector from May 2011 to October 2013, and also served as a Consultant in the Office of the Legal Vice-President from May 2009 to August 2009. Prior to that, they were an Associate with Clayton Associates, where they worked on healthcare initiatives from June 2008 to August 2009.

Mr. Parton began their career in workforce development as a Program Director for SHOUTAmerica, where they oversaw health policy programs from September 2009 to September 2013. Brent also spent a year teaching English at Shenzhen Experimental School in China from September 2007 to May 2008.

Brent Parton has a B.A. in Theirtory from Vanderbilt University and an M.Ed in International Education Policy from Vanderbilt University as well.
