Dipankar Das has over 30 years of work experience in various scientific and engineering roles. DIPANKAR is currently working as the Chief Scientific Officer at the Department of Science & Technology and Biotechnology since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Principal Scientific Officer at the Department of Science and Technology since 2017. Dipankar also has experience as a Senior Scientist at the Department of Science & Technology, Government of West Bengal, where they worked on various remote sensing projects and acted as faculty for Geoinformatics PG Diploma Courses. Before joining the government sector, they worked as an Assistant Engineer at Haldia Dock Complex, Kolkata Port Trust, and as an Engineer at The BBJ Construction Company Ltd.
Dipankar Das earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Jadavpur University between 1984 and 1988. DIPANKAR also completed their Higher Secondary education at Bankura Zilla School from 1982 to 1984. In 1995, they pursued a Master's degree in Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering from the School of Water Resources Engineering at Jadavpur University, which they completed in 1997. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Remote Sensing & GIS from the National Remote Sensing Agency, Department of Space, Government of India, through a 12-week training course in 2006. Before college, they completed the Madhyamik Examination at Bidhannagar Government High School from 1978 to 1982, where they studied various subjects such as Bengali, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Work Education, and Physical Education.
