John Voorhees

John Voorhees has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. In their most recent role at Deque Systems, Inc starting in November 2021, they serve as an Accessibility Coach and Consultant. Prior to this, John worked at the National Centers for Environmental Information/NOAA from 2016 to 2021, where they held various positions including 508 / Accessibility Expert and Content Manager, as well as Senior Web Developer. Before that, they worked at Global Commerce and Services, LLC from 2013 to 2016 as a .NET Web Developer, contracted to the National Finance Center/USDA. John'searly work experience includes a role at NASA Shared Services Center from 2006 to 2013, where they served as a Web Programmer Analyst Professional, primarily using ColdFusion and also working with ASP (classic and .NET).

John Voorhees attended Northwestern State University from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Liberal Arts from the Louisiana Scholars' College. During their time at Northwestern State University, they also studied Creative and Performing Arts. Prior to attending Northwestern State University, John Voorhees briefly attended Florida State University in 1986. Before their college years, they attended Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts from 1984 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus on Science and the Arts.
