Laura Nandakumar

Laura Nandakumar has a diverse work experience in event management, marketing, and political campaigns. Laura started their career as a Campus Coordinator for We Are the People in 2011 and then joined the Public Service Internship Program in 2012. In 2013, Laura interned for Congressman Dan Kildee and later worked as a Fellow for the Michigan AFL-CIO. Laura also served as a Fellow for the Great Lakes Political Academy in 2014. During the same year, Laura was a Wellstone Corp Organizer for Progressive Campaign Leaders- CREDO SuperPAC and Wellstone Action, where they managed phone banks and organized Get Out the Vote efforts in key senate races. In 2015, Laura became an Event Coordinator for Internet2, where they were responsible for planning and implementing events and maintaining a Salesforce database. Laura'smost recent role was as an Event Manager and Marketing Analyst at Deque Systems, Inc. since 2017. In this position, Laura organized and scaled marketing events, created marketing content, optimized marketing automation processes, and wrote blog posts.

Laura Nandakumar completed their high school education at Herbert Henry Dow High School from 2007 to 2011, earning a General High School Diploma. Following this, they attended the University of Michigan from 2011 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor’s degree. Laura'smajor areas of study were Political Science and English. Additionally, Laura has obtained several certifications, including being a Hubspot Champion User of Marketing Hub in both Q4 2019 and Q1 2020. Laura also holds an Inbound Marketing Certification from HubSpot Academy, obtained in August 2017.
