Omar Sanchez Perez has extensive work experience in embedded software and firmware engineering. Omar currently works as an Embedded Software Engineer II at Derive Systems, where they develop firmware for next-generation computers that enhance engine performance. Omar utilizes Zephyr RTOS and Agile methodology for these projects.
Prior to this, Omar worked as an Embedded Firmware Engineer at FermiTron, Inc., a company focused on US military/government contracts. Omar developed embedded firmware using Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52 and ST microcontrollers series, particularly for projects that involved Bluetooth connectivity.
Before joining FermiTron, Omar served as an Electrical Engineer at FK Irons INC, where they developed firmware for LightningBolt and PowerBolt devices. Omar utilized Laird's BL652 with Bluetooth Low Energy v5 capabilities and worked on designing and customizing services and characteristics. Additionally, they developed a Tester using MATLAB and NI cDAQ-9133 for Flux machine evaluation.
Earlier in their career, Omar worked as an Embedded Systems Engineer at Broadcast Concepts Inc, where they designed protection cards for RF amplifiers using microcontrollers. Omar implemented monitoring and protection of various RF variables and general variables.
Omar also had experience as a Repair Technician at AIRPRO AVIATION SYSTEMS, INC, an Associate Professor at Universidad de Huelva, and an Associate Professor at Pinar del Rio University.
Omar Sanchez Perez completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Sevilla, attending from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they studied at the Instituto Superior Politécnico José Antonio Echeverría from 1982 to 1987, obtaining a degree in Electronic Engineering. No specific field of study was mentioned for their first degree.
