Janaki Kumar

Janaki Kumar is a seasoned design leader with extensive experience in user experience and design innovation across various sectors. As a Founding Member of the Design Executive Council since September 2024, Janaki also serves as Managing Director and Chief Design Officer at JPMorgan Chase & Co., a role held since June 2018. Previously, Janaki contributed to academia as a Co-Instructor for a course on Customer Experience Design at Stanford University from 2015 to 2022. A long tenure at SAP included leadership roles such as VP and Head of Design and Co-Innovation Center for America, where Janaki spearheaded user experience initiatives and design thinking practices. Additional professional experience includes board membership at the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce and various design and engineering positions across notable organizations including Fannie Mae, myCFO, and Bank of Boston. Janaki holds a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Boston University and multiple degrees from Madurai Kamaraj University and the National Institute of Information Technology.
